Caught in the Act!

Nope the Fruit Basket didn't come with Gabby Inside!

The fruit basket Abah received for his birthday has become a hit especially to Gabrielle and Hercules. They could be seen sleeping in the basket (even when the fruits were still in the basket!) throughout the day. One fine day Abah caught Gabrielle and Hercules sharing the new found bed hugging each other! Extremely cute asnd sweet! See for yourself...

I was Named After...Hercules son of Zues!

The Story of Hercules of whom I was Named after from Wikipedia:

Hercules is the Roman name for the mythical Greek hero Herakles, son of Zeus and the mortal Alcmena. Early Roman sources suggest that the imported Greek hero supplanted a mythic Italian shepherd called "Recaranus" or "Garanus", famous for his strength. While adopting much of the Greek Heracles' iconography and mythology as his own, Hercules adopted a number of myths and characteristics that were distinctly Roman. In Roman works of art and in Renaissance and post-Renaissance art that adapts Roman iconography, Hercules can be identified by his attributes, the lion skin and the club: in mosaic he is shown tanned black, a virile aspect. While he was a champion and a great warrior, he was not above cheating and using any unfair trick to his advantage. However, he was renowned as having "made the world safe for mankind" by destroying many dangerous monsters. His self-sacrifice obtained him the ascent to the Olympian realms and he was welcomed by the gods. The Romans adopted the Greek stories about Heracles but added anecdotal detail of their own, some of it linking Hercules with the geography of the Western Mediterranean. In Roman mythology, Acca Larentia was Hercules' mistress. She was married to Tarutius, a wealthy merchant. When he died, she gave his money to charity. In another version, she was the wife of Faustulus.
In
Aeneid 8.195ff., Vergilius relates a myth about Hercules' defeating the monstrous Cacus, who lived in a cave under the Palatine Hill (one of the eventual Seven Hills of Rome).

Boarding for the Unlucky Trio

On sunday, three of the kids were sent to the petshop at Bukit Antarabangsa for boarding. The reason is that the house will be on renovation on the following week to install laminated flooring. To ensure the kids are comfortable as we plan to lock the remaining 4 left at home in their room we decided to send these trio for boarding. Other than that, it is also to prevent from 'unnecessary' helping the installer. So, after much consideration, 3 of them were chosen; Gabby, Hercules and Napoleon, based on their sizes, level of helpfulness and of course their hyperactivity.

Upon reaching the petshop, Hercules was the one who made noise all the way from home. I think maybe because of the previous experience of him in a cage that ended up in a vet and getting the shots. Hehehe.. The cage, located at the front of the shop is where they are put. All of them didn't like the idea. Gabby were hissing to others, Hercules making the loudest noise and Napoleon getting himself as low as possible to hide from others. It's kinda sad since this is their first experience out of home and in a cage. But, this is for their own good too.

Anyway, the flooring process were completed within a day (which we earlier expected to be done in 2 days). Today, they will be taken back to our hands and to our "new" home. Hehehe.. New home. Not yet, still got some painting to be done. Anyway, enjoy some photos of the kids at the petshop.

Cutie Paw's been Tagged!

Katz Tales tagged us with the following challenge: Tell 7 special things about Hercules.

1. I love fresh milk very much.

2. I was adopted from the Independent Pet Rescuers @ Hartamas Shopping Center on July 1st, 2006 when I was only 2 months old - Thanks to Auntie Sherrina of IPR for fostering me.

3. I was adopted on the same day as sis Isabelle, also from the IPR.

3. I love my fathers very much. I would be the first to greet Abah and Ayah when they return from work EVERYDAY by standing on my two hind legs and giving them a 'Hello' pat with my two paws as a sign of affection.

4. I love my fathers very much. I would be the last to send Abah and Ayah off to work EVERYDAY.

5. EVERY MORNING, I never miss accompanying Abah clean our room. I love seeing him scrub our poo-poo scoop after cleaning our litter pan.

6. I have a large pair of pointed ears ever since i was a kid. My ears grew even before I did and I sometimes think I look like Mr Spock in Star Trek, because of these ears.

7. I am proud to be the only one allowed to sit on the table when Abah and Ayah are having meals.

Thanks Katz Tales for the challenge!

Hercules - In Heat?

Ahahaha excuse the poor image quality and the poor editing of the photo. Hercules is now in heat (i guess the same term is used for males - in heat) it is prime time that he is sent for neutering. He's been sniffing everyone's backside - including mine and ayah's - guess he he couldn't find an available female in the house since Gabby, Victoria and Isabelle are all spayed! Good luck my dear boy Hercules!!!

Hercules & Isabelle's First Day... At Home

A month has passed since Hercules and Isabelle were adopted from the IPRs. Looking at the photos of their first day at home, I wonder what they were thinking about when they first arrived. Hercules looked scared. Isabelle shedding like nobody's business. Gabby curious to see newbies invading her territories and Troy excited seeing a new bro in the house - meaning he has someone less his size to bully!

We are very fortunate that the kids could easily get along well. There were no need for behaviorial adjustments, just some time to adjust themselves with each other.

A month now, Hercules and Troy are best of friends - the fact that they came from the same foster, Sherrina, made their reunion a spark to a closer rapport.

Gabby too could accept Hercules well. She is always seen licking and grooming Hercules, like she has always done the same to Troy and to the late Sidney.

Troy has grown to be a very responsible brother. He too is always seen grooming Hercules. Our conclusion is, animals, if they grow in a loving environment (like Gabby with Troy) no matter what their gender is, they will end up being loving as well. Wish human beings could be the same.

Isabelle is a bit quiet. She seeks attention in her very own special ways. She has taken over Sid's bed and is loving the place. Isabelle isn't really the socializing type. She has gradually accepted the fact that she is now in a new and a better place. We suspect that maybe she was abused in her previous household that she needs time to adjust and register the new environment she is in. Lately Isabelle would come to us and sit on our lap so that she could be given the well deserved attention for being a very good girl.

To all our kids, we have only our love to give. We Love You Dearly...

Love,
Abah & Ayah

Hercules: A Dream Comes True

Remember Troy @ PAWS? Well, this is not only about adopting and helping to re-home a kitten but also about a dream coming true. Ever since Troy Snr, we had never really overcome the longing to become daddies to a big black cat. Let’s say this is the first step to making the dream a reality.

Hercules, formerly named ‘Tina’ by the IPRs is the 3rd addition to the family. A very young kitten approximately 2 months old, Hercules, a hero to Abah and Ayah proves an awaited brother for Troy Junior. Hercules is independent and as playful as Troy is. They would run around the house, chasing each other, jumping on each other – just playful and adorable.

I wonder why the IPRs named Hercules ‘Tina’? That’s a girl’s name. Perhaps it’s the cute little feminine look he has. Hercules, I think is a confirmed mix Persian. He has quite long black hair and unlike Troy Snr who has a pair of yellow eyes, Hercules is proud of a pair of sky blue eyes.

Gabby welcomed Hercules and lets him nibble on her nipple. She sometimes is seen licking Hercules like she does with Troy. Hercules is rather noisy, I wonder how he will turn out when he’s older– hope he won’t be making too much noise and annoys the neighbors. For sure, the young lad will grow to become strong and macho like his name suggests, and hopefully as huge as Troy Snr too!

Two More??!!!

We're pretty sure some people would say "Two More??!!!" to this news.

Yes, two more instant children in our household. Ahahahah it all started when Ayah saw a kitten called 'Tina' in the IPRs blog. After asking Sherrina she confirmed that 'Tina' was still available and asked us to visit Plaza Damas on Saturday July 1st. (See Tina in the picture)

Earlier in the week Sherrina had offered us 'Tigger', her sister's orange cat whom I had seriously enquired about when adopting Troy. Somehow I couldn't bear thinking that I would be seperating the cat from Sherrina's sister. I surely wouldn't want to be seperated from my kids.

And yes, I said TWO MORE but the second one isn't Tigger. Hehehehe.

At the IPR giveaway in Plaza Damas we met Kokila, Karen of IPR and got to meet new friends, Uncle Hanafi and Ilya of the Pets People, a pet shop there. Thank you guys for the discount. We first saw 'Graphite' - she was maginificently pretty, a rare grey coloured female (See Graphite in the picture). Unfortunately she was a bit fierce so we worried about taking her home. Suddenly Ayah saw another cat and fell in love with...

I will introduce the two kids in my next post. But again, thank you Sherrina for the two lovely cats you fostered.

So now the total is FOUR. Hehehehe...

Love,
Abah & Ayah
