Pets play a big role in our lives and they should be loved and cherished. Pet owners are filled with so much joy from all their rendezvous with their adorable pets and even regard them as their 'darling daughter' or 'son'! So do we. This blog is all about our darling little paws; Gabrielle, Isabelle, Hercules, Alexander, Victoria The 2nd,Napoleon, Ms. Constantine, Jerry and the late Sidney, Troy and Victoria The 1st...

Letter to our son Troy at the Rainbow Bridge

Dearest Troy in Memory - One of his last photos taken

Dear Son,

Only God knows how much we miss you. Whenever we look at Hercules, we'll definitely remember dear you. How loving you were towards him. He's a grown up strong black kitty now you know - thanks to your taking care of him, he is now as loving as you are towards our youngest, Constantine.

We didn't write this earlier, not because we have forgotten you but we were bogged down renovating the house for your other siblings to live comfortably. Yes, we have done a lot to the house and many changes has taken place butthe one little spot of love you left in both our hearts and of course your collar and tag still hung in the car with bro Sid's. It shall remain there till the end of our lives.

Dear Troy,

We're sure you remember Gabby, your sis - the one who took care of you. After you left, she hasn't really been the same. No matter how many other kids we brought home, she never treated them like she treated dear you. We're sure she misses you as much too.

Funny Troy that we really miss you attacking and sucking our earlobes. You're definitely one of a kind.

Abah and Ayah hope you'll take good care of your self. Do send our love to Sidney up there in Rainbow Bridge. Do pray for our well being and the well being of your siblings at home.

A Special Message from Abah

Troy,

Abah has never told you this but I was really sad when you left even though I didn't cry that night of September 1, 2006. Abah was so shocked and disappointed with myself for not taking you to the vet earlier, for ignoring your symptoms. Sometimes I blame myself for your passing. If only I had been more sensitive. Seeing Ayah that night was devastating, the way you left us on his lap, the way you breathed your last breath. I kept seeing that moment over and over again and I promise to myself that I won't let that happen again to anyone of us, to Ayah and to rest of our children. I'm sorry Troy.

We love you Troy.

Love,
Abah & Ayah

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge

This poem is dedicated to our deceased children; Victoria I, Sidney, Troy and the Palm Garden Babies.

We love and miss you very much...

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
Author unknown...

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Love,
Abah & Ayah

Another Loss in the Family

After 2 months Sid left us, I still can't accept the fact that he's not around anymore. The only thing left is his collar and pendant with his name craved on it. On Friday, September 1st, 2006, another shocking things happened. Troy left us for good. It was so sudden and until now, I still haven't found the cause of it.

Two days before, Troy was like the other cats in the house. Running around and attacking the other cats. Hercules usually will be his play buddy. But, when Alexander joins the family, Troy mekes him the new target. On 1st September, after work, we planned to go and catch a movie. But, at some point, the feel to go to catch movie is not there. So, we decided to head home instead.

Troy - In Loving Memory..

Upon arriving home, I looked for Troy. He was lying in the bed that we bought for Sid. I panicked. He never did that. I lift him up and took him to the sofa. He was so weak. We planned to take him to the vet on the next day (Saturday). But, Troy knows that he can't hold any longer. He tried to get away from me but since he's so weak, he couldn't do it. I held him close in my arms and without notice, I was in tears. I just can't stand looking at him struggling. I can't do anything. Then, Troy threw up some kind of yellow thingy and then it was all over. He left us forever. To be frank, YES.. I cried like hell that night. Only God knows how I feel.

The next day we took Troy to Melawati to buried him next to Sid. I kept thinking about him. Troy was a very unique cat. He was the only cat to suck on earlobe. I really miss him. Really, really miss him. The house is not the same as before. No more Troy running around, playing at my feet, climbing to target the earlobe. I just hope that what we did for him is the best and hope that he enjoyed it. Now I know that he is up there, somewhere, with Sidney and the little newborns that we could not save. I'm sorry Troy if we've mistreated you. You will always be our special kid.

Goodbye Troy... We Love You.

I can only find the strength to write this entry after a week had passed.

On September 1, 2006 our beloved son, Troy had suddenly left us to be with his brother Sidney. Our beloved, special and cute little son died in the arms of his Ayah at about 9:45pm. He had apparently waited for us to return from work and meet us for the last time.

Troy had been healthy, playful and jovial just the day before. A video Ayah took of the children on the night Farhan visited(August 30th) proved that Troy was in his pinkiest of health just a couple of days before he died. We do not have an explaination to why he had died but on Merdeka day when we fed the children braised chicken, Troy refused to eat. I especially regret for not entertaining Troy's request the day before he died. I never took them as clues that he'd be leaving us forever.

1. He had never massaged me in order to get his usual dose of earlobe nibbling but on the night of August 31st he did just that. I didn't surrender my ears though and I regret it.

2. In the wee hours of the morning of August 31st Troy had entered my room and wanted my ears but I didn't surrender and covered my ears with the pillow. I saw troy waiting and sitting beside me staring until i woke up later on. I regret for not giving him what he wanted.

The morning of September 1st we let Troy play in the bedroom - something that i think he'd appreciate. I'm glad i let him in. When we came back that night (lucky we dismissed the idea of going for a movie) we found him lying down on Isabelle's bed. Something we have never saw him doing. He was lying down, breathing hard and looking gloomy. We thought he hadn't eaten since we tried feeding him braised chicken the night before. I wanted to try force feeding him when it happened.

We witnessed God taking Troy away, his hind legs were kicking and he vomitted before breathing his last breath and suddenly there was our son staring emptily at us. He was gone.

We laid Troy to rest beside Sidney at atok's house in Taman Melawati. Until now, there isn't a clue to what had happened. The photos in my entry on Troy attacking Farhan was the last photos we had had of him.

Today marks the first week of our life without Troy. Our home is never the same without him. His absence is felt and obviously, no one would come to nibble on our earlobes anymore.

We miss you Troy.

Love,
Abah & Ayah.

Troy's New Craze - Our Ears

Recently Troy has developed a new habit, a craze is more like it. It started when Ayah was on MC and stayed at home. Troy started to sniff around Ayah's neck and finally stops at his right ear. Sid used to nibble on our ears but not to the extend of sucking.

We've seen Troy sucking Gabby's nipples for milk but our ears? Since that, Troy is addicted to this ear sucking thing and demands one of us for the ritual everyday! He would suck on our earlobes and purr until he sleeps.

What excites us most the the bond that Troy is probably trying to build with us. And only God knows how much it tickles to have him purr right into our ears. This habit is now a ritual. We sometimes would just surrender our earlobes for our son to fall asleep.

That's our baby (not so baby anymore Troy!) boy!

Love,
Abah & Ayah

Gabby's & Troy's Sleeping Habit

After what seems to Abah and Ayah as an endless playing, Gabby and Troy retires. Something odd about the children; their sleeping habit. I guess (witnessed during weekends and when we're not working) they sleep most of the daytime - but as expected in cats generally, they should be awake the whole night. However, when we arrive home from work, Gabby and Troy would play a little while beofre dozing off until about eleven to midnight. That point onwards, the two will start running around the house, jumping on us while we're sleeping.

Troy especially, would jump on and around Abah's bed, stepping and jumping over Abah's head. (No pun intended) What is for sure, scrathes on our bodies when we wake up the next morning. Gabby prefers to sleep at the end of the bed on the comforter (that's my girl, she knows and chooses only the best for herself) while Troy likes to sleep near Abah's chest (sometimes on the pillow, near Abah's ears)

Troy would be waking me up early and Gabby would anxiously wait near the bed for Abah's alarm to go off. They perfectly know the Nokia's Cuckkoo sound - an indication their breakfast is going ot be served soon and that their poo poo and wee wee (litter) pans are going to get cleaned.

Such intelligent kids!

The Princess and The Star

Gabby is a responsible sister. Perhaps it’s the motherly instinct in her that makes the two of them (Gabby and Troy) very close. I understand from SPCA that before being spayed Gabby has had babies. God knows what happened to them now. I can only hope they’re in happy homes.

Unlike with Sid, Gabby needed no further introduction to Troy. The moment she saw this child she was attracted to him. As seen in the video, this is Gabby’s routine in making sure her little brother is well groomed every day.

Being beauty conscious her self, Gabby makes sure she bathe Troy at least twice a day (those are the times Abah and Ayah could see them) I guess when we’re at work, more bathing takes place. Playful, Troy would bite and kick Gabby but she puts all her effort in making sure her job is done.

We are glad that Gabrielle is such a responsible ‘mother’ to Troy. At times Troy would even suckle Gabby’s nipples for milk. Unfortunately as I understand from the vet, once a female cat is spayed, she won’t be able to produce anymore milk.

All we can say to Gabby, thank you very much for taking good care of your brother.

Love,
Abah & Ayah

Troy: Our Celebrity Son

Troy was adopted from the independent Pet Rescuers or Animals Are Our Angels (see rescue2rehome.blogspot.com for more information). Thank you to Sherrina for fostering Troy.

Troy is a 3 - 4 month old male cat, high possibility of being a mix persion because of his extra furry body, but we'll see. He was adopted on June 16, 2206. A healthy brat, Troy is very playful. If the name sounds familiar, yes Troy is named after the big black cat Abah met and wanted to adopt at PAWS but couldn't - hopefully my Troy will grow to be as healthy and as strong.

Troy is indeed very playful. He will wake Abah and Ayah up at 7 every morning (just like Sid but a little earlier). Troy has also grown attached to Gabby to the extend of tearing if he doesn't see Gabby around. Perhaps Gabby's motherly instinct has brought the two very closely knit.

Troy will appear in 3R, a local documentary-like production in 2 weeks time. Yes, he's a celebrity whether I like it or not (of course I'm happy for him.. eheheh jeles nih!) the shooting was done yesterday June 22nd somewhere in USJ. The episode will feature Troy as one of the pets rescued by the IPRs named Karen Bahrain. The episode will also show Abah adopting Troy from Karen and taking him home.

To Troy, welcome and we hope you're happy at your new home; OUR home.

Love
Abah & Ayah

P/s - If you're interested to own a pet (cat or dog) please contact me or visit the IPR blog for further information. We're not rescuers but doing the little bit we can to lend a helping hand.
